About the event

When we think of the nervous system, we possibly think of nerve cells and yet the vast majority of this system is composed of glial cells that nourish, support, protect and insulate our nerves.

Come to a workshop with the School of Experiential Learning (SOEL) - All bookings and enquiries are managed by SOEL

Teaching: Rosalyn Maynard (BMC practitioner), with Sarah Gray (BMC student)

Assisted by Cristina Soriano (Anatomy Trains graduate)

In this workshop we will consider our glial cells and their integral relationship between our nervous system and our connective tissue network including:

·        our fascia as a sensory organ,

·        the meninges (membranes around the brain),

·        the neurolemma (schwann cells and oligodendrocytes),

·        perineurium (spiral wrappings)

·        fat and insulation

·        Skin and embryology

Through gentle guided movement, meditations, dance and hands on touch we will explore Body-Mind Centering® principles such as nerve combing, sounding, taking out the slack, going under the tone, and cellular respiration, touch and consciousness.
